ABOUT

The Ghost And The Machine (TGATM) was founded by Andi Lechner and is based in Vienna, Austria.

The new album “Sorrows” is a product of quiet togetherness, because contrary to the cliché, coping with worries is often a collective and empathetic endeavor.

In contrast to fast-paced music consumption and a hungry streaming market, Lechner has been carving out an unapologetic artistic identity as a songwriter and musician for over 10 years. This is even honored by ‘Rolling Stone’ magazine, calling the music of TGATM “elegant like Leonard Cohen and eerie as Nick Cave” as well as “inevitable”.

With poetic, dark lyrics reminiscent of Mark Lanegan, Chelsea Wolfe, or Tom Waits, nostalgic synthesizers, and the distinctive sounds of his resonator guitars, “Sorrows” is a unique mix of sounds that tell touching stories.
